- Active in healthcare development and operations, financings, and Affiliations for 29 years.
- Areas of expertise: development and operations of hospitals and ambulatory care facilities, affiliations (mergers and acquisitions, hospital/physician joint ventures and syndications), and capital financings.
- 1988-Present : Founder and President of Paragon Health Capital Corp., a firm which provides development and operations resources and expertise and capitalization services. Bruce was also on a several year retainer with Scripps Memorial Hospitals, La Jolla, California providing project development services.
- 2001-2007: Paragon partnered with Texas Health Resources to build TpHR. Paragon provided all human and intellectual resources to successfully build TpHR; a development and management company, a revenue cycle management division, as well as three very successful and efficient hospitals: Presbyterian Hospital of Rockwall, Harris Methodist Southlake Center for Diagnostics and Surgery, and Presbyterian Plano Center for Diagnostics and Surgery. - 1984-1988: Senior VP of Financial Advisory Services, Managed Care, and Microcomputers at VHA Consulting.
Also Chief Operating Officer of VHA Securities, Inc., VHA’s joint venture development division.
- 1981-1984: Healthcare Consultant with KPMG (Peat Marwick) responsible for:
- Developing Bond Issuance Financial Feasibility Studies for Hospital Development and Expansions.
- KPMG enjoyed 50% market share for Bond Issuance Feasibility Studies in the 8 state SW region.
- Mergers and Acquisitions
- Strategy and Demand Studies for hospitals and large physician practices
- 1979-1981: Administrative Department Head for Internal Medicine for Baylor College of Medicine at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.
- Education: BA degree in Managerial Studies from Rice University in Houston, Texas.
